Francis "Butch" Spargo, age 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Frank and Hazel Willard Spargo. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Larry and Roger Spargo. Butch was a longtime member of Independent Tabernacle in Dallas where he served his Lord as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon and was also a current active member and Deacon at New Faith Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved to fish, play softball. exercise, work in his yard, as well as read his Bible. He also loved going to the Lilly patch outside Maggie Valley. Butch loved his entire family and will be missed dearly. He will also be missed by his close Church friend Mike Hardin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years Eulene Spargo; his children: Jeff Spargo (Samantha), Teresa Hambrick, Donna Anderson (Robbie), and Jamie Spargo (Girlfriend Kristen McCall); his siblings: Brenda Sutton (David), Mickey Spargo (Pat), Kevin Spargo (Kathy), Timmy Spargo (Rita); his grandchildren: Michael Spargo, Brian Spargo, Anthony Hambrick, Tara Hambrick, Ashley Arrowood, Ryan Spargo, and Madison Dorn. as well as his great grandchildren: Kolby Arrowood, Carson Hambrick, Bryson King, Wyatt Hambrick, Walker Hambrick, and Cora Davis.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday March 24, 2024 at Independent Tabernacle in Dallas with Pastors Brian Spargo, Michael Spargo, and Drew Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday also at the Church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
